awesome idea.. please explain.. trcwest
the monome ( http://monome.org ) is a controller I assembled from a kit that they sell on their website (or they used to, the kits are currently sold out). It is having a dialog with a small application called Flin inside a program called MAXmsp ( http://www.cycling74.com/products/max5 ). Flin is a "raining notes"-kind of program, and I just set how long the notes should be and how fast they will fall, by pressing the buttons...the lower ones are long notes and the top ones are fast notes. The "raindrops" are then sent as midi-data to a modular software studio called Jeskola Buzz ( http://www.buzzmachines.com ) where I load a synth that will play the "rain notes". The knob I'm turning is a lowpass-filter which changes the tone of the synth. There are some other sounds (glitchy drums and some pads) that I have programmed to be semi-random inside of Jeskola Buzz.
That's pretty much it. Hope it made a little more sense now when watching it again. Evelon
