The 12seconds API provides developers with the ability to grab and mix content from the 12seconds site in a number of cool ways. This alpha release of the API is a set of simple HTTP requests to our API server that returns XML for your mashup pleasure. You can grab a single user's videos, the videos of that user's friends, metadata about a single video, and videos matching tags. This is just the first step for the 12seconds API. We have lots more coming up, so look out. For now, have fun playing around with the great content on 12seconds!
The latest version of API now allows authenticated requests and remote authoring so you can integrate recording via webcam or file upload from your own apps and have those videos posted to 12seconds. Check out the API documentation below for more information and e-mail us to request a partner_id to access these new features.
