    1. Uhhhh... I am afraid to say that this happened to me once years ago. The pumps and nozzles do not break when you pull away it is made to "break away" and nothing spews out. It is a scam if they try to charge you anything, though it was very embarrassing. dickhollywood

    2. There are two or three "America's Funniest Home Movies" that feature people driving off without taking the nozzle out of the car. $500 seems steep even if dickhollywood isn't right about it being a scam (though I suspect he is). ThePete

    3. yeah..its a scam.. they are designed with a safety valve that breaksaway if pulled ..no spillage. im assuming that they lose money on that particular pump for the day if it takes them a certain amount of time to REATTACH the hose to the pump. (hence the charge,) when it happened to me.. they just took my dl info and name for their records. werid i know.. but on a positive note.. i didnt pay 500 bucks LOVESENTproject

    4. I hate to admit it, but I've done it once...not my car: it belonged to the radio station I worked for. I just pulled around to the side of the building, left the hose...and drove-off into the night. slick
